If this is the one I'm thinking of, no I haven't but I looked into going some years ago but decided against it because you have to "winch up" your 4WD to get to it. There used to be 2 old cranky brothers guarding the site but that was years ago. Check out the Death Valley boards for more info--people always ask about that one and the Barker Ranch site as well.

If you go we want a full report!

Therre's some prime ghost town hunting out there. Ballarat is right there and many more. Great part of the world--probably my favorite place to explore. Check out the Racetrack and Barker Ranch (or, what's left of it after the fire) too.

I've actually been to Ballarat. Bought a couple beers at the general store and chatted with George Novak who used to live at the claim at the bottom of Sunrise Canyon. And the Racetrack IS fun. I plan on stopping by there on my way to Frazer Park, Ca. A little out of the way, but a cool area.

Now you have me thinking about Death Valley. Who ever is reading these posts--you need to go. Unlike any other place on earth.

Darwin and Cerro Gordo are two other worthwhile DV semi-ghosts, also. Just thinking about them and DV Junction make me want to go right now.
