Hi,
I sell a piece of meteorite coming from the Canyon Diablo Meteor Crater in Arizona.
There is the specimen, a tiny piece of individual iron meteorite.
I sell for 20$ _________________ Pitchblack's - Quebecquish Industrial Caver! |

There is a show on the Discovery Science Channel Wednesday nights called "Meteorite Men". They are professional meteorite hunters. Very interesting series.
Some meteorites are very rare, others very common. Only a lab experienced in them can place a value on the remnants.
This meteorite types link may be of interest.
This link may help assess its value.. Found a Meteorite?
There is a mineral rarely found on our planet.. iridium.. but abundant in some meteorite types.. a clue to its reality.
Most meteorites originate deep in space, from the Asteroid belt.. but some may come from other sources such as comets freely roaming our galaxy.. and are drawn down by Earth's gravity, rapidly burning up on entry. Many will explode before impact, spreading chips far and wide.. others may impact before exploding.
Very interesting "hobby" and can be rewarding! _________________ F@H.. to cure mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! http://folding.stanford.edu/ |

That show is awesome. They can make thousands in a day!! They are probably taking a hit from the economy however. _________________ Advertisements contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper. Thomas Jefferson. |

Hey, how do you know that the meteorite is from Canyon Diablo? Did you personally get these yourself?? Sell it on Ebay, you can make some decent cash on there, it's an entire World market! _________________ Advertisements contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper. Thomas Jefferson. |

There is a high level of truth and trust with genuine meteorites or 'space rocks'. Each has a unique metallurgy structure and "DNA" or family. If the shard is not as advertised, the seller can be in serious legal trouble.. as with precious metal sales falsehoods.
In some instances, a document or title comes with the shard, verifying its origin (location found).
In truth, some meteorite shards are worth more than the equivalent weight in gold!! _________________ F@H.. to cure mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! http://folding.stanford.edu/ |
