Jan. 16th the SyFy TV channel will air a new series.. "Ghost Mine". It was filmed near Sumpter, Oregon (the Crescent Mine).
Rumored to be one of the 'richest' gold mines in the area, it was shut down about 80 years ago due to accidents, hazards and being "played out". It is rumored that "spirits" inhabit the digs! May be interesting to have a 'virtual tour' of the workings, and (theatrics aside) it may be worth watching!

Looking forward to that with much interest. I passed by Sumpter many years ago looking for ghost towns or mines and found lots of ruins and abandonedment there.

Guess the "show is over" with that Ghost Mine series. The finale was aired, maybe now is "shelved" for some time in the future. Was a decent production, did portray some old mining practices and habits. Perhaps the mine was closed down for paranormal activity, or for real reasons of safety from collapse. From one episode, it was noted the town of Sumpter burnt down.. along with all historic records, around 1917. Reference:
Surely there were some special effects and scenes added to the shows.. but it did look quite true in its presentation.
No one can truly explain "hauntings" of any area. Be they 'residual' events that replay without reason, or 'intelligent' events that react to input. Possibly there is another realm of activity that is partially interactive with our 'real' world. Visions, voices, mists of entities or objects that move on their own.. or by unseen hands? Some cannot be debunked!
